Toronto, March 14
Recently held executive committee of Baglung Sewa Samaj, Canada made a decision to give scholarship award to six more students for next academic year 2072-2073. The total number of students receiving scholarship award is going to be 10 whereas 4 students have been receiving this award from last year.
Because of the constraints in operation, monitoring and evaluation, students will be selected from Baglung district only for this time. This will include three regions of the districts where procedure and responsibility of selection is already assigned to members of executive committee.
Ashok Poudel is taking a lead to select 2 students from southern belt and recommend for scholarship. One meritorious student will be given scholarship. Likewise Nabin Shrestha and Gopal Kandel will work jointly to select 2 students from Municipality, and it’s surrounding areas and one student will get that scholarship. Similarly, Giri Budhathoki will work in close contact with Tula and Ananda to select 2 students and committee will recommend one from the western region. Three students will be selected from Galkot area. Durga Adhikari and other members will work to select from the area.
The priority will go to girls. Educating girls means to helping reduce poverty in a family. Empowering girls is to strengthen society in terms of gender and economic equality. For detail news see the link below:
