Remote municipality Dhorpatan in Baglung District was hard hit by the flooding in Bhuji River on September 3, 2020 at the time of night. It killed around 3 dozens of lives, damaged over 100 houses, schools, health posts, power house and half dozen of suspension bridges in ward no 7, 8 and 9 in the municipality.
Baglung Sewa Samaj Canada decided to send relief as early as possible. With the relief sending decision, we decided to raise fund earliest possible way to help those who indeed in need. So, we launched GoFundMe Campaign that helped raised over 4K and we collected another 11 hundred through cash, cheque and e-transfer. We received tremendous support from members of Nepalis community members residing in Canada. Helping Hands Without Boarder Canada helped us institutionally in this case.
Raised help was sent in two phases. First was sent to help victims for immediate need address. It was 3 lakh NRS. It was distributed around 135 families and second was 1 lakh 9 thousands which was handed to the Mayer of Dhorpatan Municipality to help build infrastructures.
हामीले उठाएको उक्त राहत संकलन रसमलाई दुई चरणमा बितरण गर्यौ । दोश्रो चरणको बितरण रक़म १ लाख नौ हज़ार रुपैया भने अन्तराष्ट्रिय बाग्लुङ सेवा समाज अन्तरगतको भौतिक संरचना निर्माणमा योगदान हो । पहिलो चरणको ३ लाख रुपैया प्रत्यक्ष रुपमा बाढी पिडितलाई बाँडिएको हो ।
